About
George Pavlisko Sr was a passionate family man, auto enthusiast, and chemist. One fateful day in early 1961 all three of his passions collided at once. George had just bought a 1939 Bentley and was proudly showing it to his wife when she declared, “the color of those seats has to be changed.” George stood there looking at the beautiful but tired leather seats and wondered to himself, "how am I supposed to change the color of leather?” Being a dedicated husband and chemist, George knew he had to figure it out. On that day, Leatherique was born.
George Sr & the 1939 Bentley
As George experimented with different ways and means to dye the seats a new color, he quickly realized that the success of his project would depend upon the health of the leather. With over twenty years on the road, the leather seats of his Bentley had become dry. This realization led to the development of Leatherique Rejuvenator and Leatherique Prestine Clean.
As an expert in auto restoration, George Sr was deeply involved in the British classic car community. This led to the Rolls Royce Owners Club dubbing Leatherique products Simply the Best at their 1968 National Meet.
Following closely in the footsteps of George Sr, George Pavlisko Jr and his wife Krysti ran and owned the business for decades. Located in Columbus, Indiana, we continue to make all of our products in house. Leatherique is a veteran owned business in the third generation of family ownership.
